Preserve me, O God, for you in You I put my trust.

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ.

Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

A person who prays alone honestly, conversing with God before His presence, enjoys the taste of Eden’s Garden in each step he takes in the fields or in the city. When he returns from prayer, all the world is new to his eyes, and the world feels completely new.

Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.

I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works.

Contemporary humans are forced to live like foam, jostled about in rush hour. However, we who live in this hectic contemporary civilization must foremost rest our hearts at times and restore ourselves (our souls).

Sing to the Lord a new song, and His praise from the ends of the earth.

Heavenly streams, so pure and clear, like a crystal spring, To a parched and dying world, blessed moisture bring; Long I sought the waters sure, that alone can satisfy, Now they well up in my soul, nevermore to die!

Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; when I fall, I will arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.
